Edgenuity

In an effort to offer our secondary students more opportunities for learning Hampton City Schools has implemented an electronic learning program.  These online, or virtual, classes offer students an alternative to the traditional educational setting.

Students who work independently with minimum supervision, have good time management skills and a desire to learn do well in this environment.  A successful student can stay on task and maintain a regular schedule of logging on and keeping up with the readings and course assignments.

Our staff are fully certified teachers who have also received specialized training in order to teach virtual classes.  Teachers are readily available via phone and email.  Mentors are available to help students.  Mentors may work with a student on necessary technical skills needed in the online environment, facilitate communication between teachers, students and parents or find answers to questions the student or parent may have.
