Summer Programs

HCS encourages students and families to continue with their reading throughout the summer. Teachers may begin the 2019 -2020 school with discussions and activities from the summer reading list. Click the Title to view the summer reading list & letter.

Virtual Summer School (VSS) is designed for rising 8th through rising 12th-grade students. VSS provides secondary students with the opportunity for anytime, anywhere online learning. Sign up and gain information by clicking the title.

Summer Refresher Courses are offered to students who still need to pass End of Course SOL tests to earn verified credits to meet graduation requirements. July 15 - July 25, 2019. Click title to register.

Summer Bridge Program (rising 9th)

Summer Bridge is the transition program for ALL incoming 9th grade students. It will be held Monday, August 12th through Thursday, August 15th, from 8:30am - 12:30pm. Please complete this form to register your child for the program. Please email Ms. Elazier at with questions.

August 2019 Summer Bridge Program for incoming 9th graders

The Academies of Phoebus

2019 Summer Institute Program

The Summer Institute Program - Allow students to explore real world business challenges through each PHS Academy program for 16 days (July 15 - August 7 from 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m).

Sign-up is COMPLETE when Permission Forms are COMPLETED and RETURNED to your Academy Teacher by June 15. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all participating youth. Free transportation for zoned-school students. Out-of-zone students must provide their own transportation.

This program will run from July 15 - August 7, 2019.
