Scholarships are available for high school, undergraduate, graduate and international students attending a college or technical school. Educators, Parents and students- our website offers tons of resources for your students to succeed in searching for colleges and scholarships. SCHOLARSHIP  through Hampton Roads Educator Credit  Union (HRECU)

HRECU has scholarship opportunities available for both employees and dependents:

  1. Laura W. Twyford Memorial Scholarship (3 for $1,000 each)

·         High School Seniors pursuing a degree in education

·         Attend school within our field of membership, membership not required


  1. Career Development Scholarship (1 for $1,000)

·          High School Seniors pursuing a degree, certification or license in any field other than education

·         Attend school within our field of membership


  1. Naomi J. Chadwick Memorial  Scholarship (1 for $1,000)


·         High School Seniors pursuing a 4-year degree in any area of study

·         Need Based Scholarship

·         Must be a member for a minimum of 2 years

·         Not required to attend school in our field of membership


  1. Post Graduate Studies Scholarship (1 for $1,500)


·         School employees pursing a master’s degree or higher

·         Must work in a school within our field of membership

·         Must be a member


  1. Educational Advancement Scholarship (1 for $1,500)

·         School employees pursing a bachelors or associates degree

·         Must be a member

In order to participate in the scholarship contest, applicants must meet the following criteria:

•       Must be currently attending or planning to attend a college or university during the Spring, Summer or Fall 2017 academic year.
•       Must be in good academic standing with your current educational institution.
•       For applicants under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
•       Must provide your written essay: “Driverless Vehicles” by the deadline of April 30, 2017
•       A winner will be chosen on – May 15, 2017
